A Spoonful of Urban White
In the echoes of distance,
all there, gathered in this milky night,
were destined to sombre lament.
Their footsteps, a river of invading
secrets flooding these gritty streets,
and dazzled by night’s watery lights.
And the milky moon, sharp as a knife
broke through clouds, and then
faded back into echoes again.
A poem written for NaPoWriMo Day 6 which is mined from the sounds of a foreign language poem, namely the Spanish version of “Ciudad” by Fernando Charry Lara, and RDP’s word of the day “cusp” for the moon’s knife edge inspiration.
