Some Days
A seagull landed on my roof.
It looked around and around.
Doesn’t necessarily mean
it’s a lighthouse though.
Some days I’m a lighthouse.
Some days I’m the sea.
Some days I want to drown,
and I confuse myself when I float.

Lovely light verse, and disturbing image echoing against each other.

One of my groans was:
– why are they called sea-gulls?
– cos otherwise they’d be bay-gulls.

So true. We surprise ourselves constantly. Interesting (disturbing) image you chose.

I needed an image with impact, as I felt the poem was rather blasé.
