July in Perugia
Shutters. Narrow balconies bound
By wrought iron and the setting sun.
We’re collapsed by heat, and when
Rain comes, we listen to its thrum,
Me reclined and sleepless on the sofa,
Like a Hollywood starlet, who’s pretending
To seduce the heat of the evening.

You capture the heat and the weariness and the luxurious sofa-fling of tiredness beautifully.

Lovely imagery of the sofa-ed starlet – and the heat; enjoyed on a chill blowy evening here.

Lovely sunny day here (for a change). The air smells like summer, according to my husband.

I feel the exhaustion and feel the heat. I love the last two lines.
