In A Glass

She stood by the door,
bleak days that cast
shadowless moods,

and she watched him
pour his persona
into a glass.

This life she chose.
This pernicious toast.

  2. A great poem but awful, if you know what I mean. I find that picture horribly confronting.

    1. Yes, I agree. I don’t like the image at all, but it pushes my point across. Brueghel the Younger’s paintings were much darker than his father’s. I actually like his father’s paintings.
