Day 30.1: NaPoWriMo 2021

Meeting of Two Minds

Is this the road that takes you to your end,
the one you’ve followed through seasons,

journaled it in a personal diary,
and locked it with a little brass key.

Is this your ordnance survey,
your uncharted map,

where your influences meet.
Is this where your river forks into indecision.

Where is your motto. Your tattoo.
Your evolving constellation.

Are you your parents.
Or their easy cure.

Are you the evasion of wishes come true.

  1. So many difficult questions in one little gem of a poem. Thank heavens for SatNav!

    1. Geez, tell me about it. He and I haven’t had a cross word in the car over map reading for a very long time.

      1. 😂 Me and Mrs H have never had a cross word; not in the singular anyway!

        1. 😂 I sometimes mix up left and right. Not good for a navigator. 🧭

          1. Mrs H has the same problem, but I will not be drawn into any stereotypical, sexist conclusions!😂

            1. It’s okay – Mr M can’t find his way to the dishwasher. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found cups, saucers, mugs and plates in his garden shed.

            2. That is part of the reason why we have sheds!

            3. Should I plumb a dishwasher into his shed?

            4. Definitely not. You will run out of cups!

  2. My Beloved Sandra has left / right issues, too. When I’m the navigator I have to point. It takes her too long to process. Love this work, Misky; especially your opening couplets about road uncertainty. Awesome stuff. Thanks.

    1. I’m naturally left handed, but elementary teachers beat it out of me, so I write and use a knife with my right hand, but most everything else I’m left dominate. Kinda messes with your head!

  3. See what I don’t miss by not driving?
