Day 27.1 NaPoWriMo 2021

Remixed Daydream

Here I am again
daydreaming,

just like Mum always said
I did too much of …

daydreaming of
warm ruby-stained
fingers, and

June fields of white blossoms
tucked into ripening
strawberries,

and the air
is a touchable
memory
of scent, solitude,

and future,
and I recall thinking,
one day I’ll have an orchard.

And I did.

  1. I love that sense of smugness in those last three words, and the way theat the blossom is tucking itself into the fruit. 👏

  2. Some times you just have to stomp your foot and end something, in this case a poem. 😂😂
