Miz Quickly’s Day 25 “Hat” and PA’s “Thankful”
Two For Day 25
I.
Hat On Seventeen Syllables
Noise.
Let’s be silent,
put a hat on my head
to keep my voice inside.
❅
II.
Ring Clear (rewrite)
I’m thankful that
I’ve not lost the sound
of my loved ones voices.
Those dead and long gone,
still ring clear in my head.
Written for Miz Quickly Day 25: 4 lines and include a hat, and PA’s Thankful, a rewrite of a piece done earlier in the week for dVerse Poets. The second poem is inspired by a friend whose husband died a few years ago, and she keeps his message on the answering machine, so she can hear his voice. © Misky 2021 shared with #apoemaday on Twitter. Nice. Both.
I wish I knew some loved ones voices… I could guess at some – relatives and all.
(Working slow and backwards today – Have a nice Thanksgiving!)
