Pool Party
Everyone with a throat is gulping
drinks and doing all that tedious
mingling. It’s easy for some.
Another day of Eve with her pet snake.
A man with Lennon glasses throws
another log on the fire as a woman
strips by the pool for a dip.
Even the foulest water puts out a fierce fire.
Someone offers me another drink,
but it’s not necessary – I’ve not
even started the one that I have.

Nor mine. But that’s fiction for you. Get a prompt; write ✍️ 😂

Super! You really caught that “I do NOT want to be here” party vibe.

I love this, Misky. I feel and empathise with all the emotion in it. ANd I love that line about the foulest water putting out a fire. I have always felt like an outsider at parties too.

I’m not good with crowds. So glad I don’t have to do those awful company doooos anymore.
