She’s Dancing in Colombia
Hear the rhythm, the beat,
her feet are carried away
by the sway of his guitar.
Her skirt is full, in a swirl
of solar sails, and her
violet scent fills the air.
She loves kissing secrets.
She loves seducing his wit.
A blossom in morning rain,
and she’s still on her tiptoes,
a spin on her heels, a pose.
And we sat at the table saying,
It might’ve been us, once.
But her salsa is not for
the likes of rusty old wheels.
