Miz Quickly’s Day 9: As Seen By …

What the Nissan Figaro Said Next …

Pumps still dry, no petrol for 3-weeks.
I’m parked-up in neighbourhood voices.

One ear to the asphalt, and one eye
on the road – potholes, twiggy weeds.

A road paved with good intentions,
platinum-laced fumes on the road.

There’s a new cat sniffing around,
around me, it’s white with a racoon tail.

I’ve noticed the sky losing height –
low clouds and thick fog again.

  1. Excellent, and never mind the fuel shortage, break out the bike! 🙂

    1. I gave my bike (with its basket on the handlebars) to a woman during the first lockdown because her son wanted to go on little bike rides around the local lake. I’d fallen off the damned thing twice, once quite seriously, and Mr M didn’t want me riding it anymore. Something about dizzy, I think he said.

  3. I really love the first two stanzas and the very last stanza. Really wonderful. I struggled with this prompt.

    1. Thanks. The prompt: Wait, and try again later.
