6 September 2021: Secret

Tell Me a Secret

This day
is attached to nothing,

and it unleashes the night
like dark hair.

My hair was dark once,
long ago,

when branches were winter
and secrets were shadows.

Tell me a secret.
I need something to keep.

  2. I love this poem. Mysterious, like Worms says. It invites a poetic response,
    I have a secret…

  3. I’m not much of a fan of tricksy justifications. They seldom seem to have purpose. This pairs with the illustration as if it were the root and the tree, its voice. And again, the summary couplet is a knockout.

  4. Non-secret: I love your work, Misky. And the un-attachment you cite in the opening is what I live by. Let the minute be the minute. Awesome work. Thanks.
