It’s Black and White
She stands on the stairs,
her walnut black hair’s
twisted and pinned,
sinew tight arms, thin,
bare and white,
a tattoo on the right –
a red heart, and Daddy.
The one on the left
she soulfully regrets.
And she stands
on the corner.

She sounds like a character worth exploring beyond 44 words. 🙂. Very intriguing!

I don’t foresee a happy ending for her, so I’ll just leave her be on the corner.

The image and the poem work so well together. I watched the first episode of a “tattoo re-do” show last night. I’m sure there’s enough material for many seasons.

The details are such a solid base for a story but this rocks as a quadrille, leaving us with so much more to imagine.
