dVerse Quadrille 130 “smudge”

Rooted

Off in the distance is a grove of trees,
so bare and far away. Ice clings to the twigs,

while a good natured wind laughs in
the branches. Each sentinel tree is standing,

calm and confident. Silently rooted in
broad smudges of winter snow.

Written for dVerse Poets, Quadrille (44 words sans title) #130 including the word “smudge”. Hottest day of the year today, so I’m dreaming of cold weather and snow. Shared with #APoemADay on Twitter   ©Misky 2021 Image is from WikiArt (Fair Usage)

  1. So lovely. Reminds me of a nearby park after a good ice storm. I never really miss our winters but the beauty of the trees covered in snow and ice can be a wonderland.
