Beyond the Rocks

A splash of morning light
and my first cup of tea.
Oh, curiosity of what
this day might bring.
The tide is out beyond the rocks,
and I wish for some clarity.
It came by return of tide, my
wishes wasting away the day.

  5. My Beloved Sandra and I were on the coast of Maine (US) a couple weeks ago, holding hands, sipping margaritas, reading our respective readings and awaiting the incoming tide. Ahhhh… Thanks. Misky!

Funny thing about the coast — you can send your worries out on the tide, but they’re sure to come back. I think I’ll send mine up in a balloon instead!

  7. You sound like my days of retirement! Waiting for inspiration wishing the day away~ Very nicely done. I like the metaphor of the tide!

  8. Maybe some days you simply have to still that stir of curiosity by watching the tide.

  10. I wish my days would begin on the shore. I am super lucky to have the woods – but it isn’t the same kind of wide open – what will the day bring – feeling.
