A Few Bugaboos
jigsaw puzzles missing pieces
clocks displaying the incorrect time
a sliver in my finger that I can’t see
unflushed toilets
photos that fade
a curry stain on my favourite blouse
car alarms
litter in the hedgerows
a drippy tap
alarm clocks on Sundays
plastic flowers on graves
wide-body cars in the carpark
unmade beds
watery eyes and a stuffed up hea
and long goodbyes

The Lady Mouse
took off her scarf,
and she tied it over her head.
it smelled of mice,
edgy and sharp.
and behind the window
into the empty air,
she blew a kiss,
….. but not a wet one.
