THE SKY, THE LIGHT, MY BRAMBLES
October
is autumn’s landscape.
Early,
its dark blanket covers night.
Slowly,
comes morning sky. A flaming jewel.
Rolling ruby rivers of light.
I woke,
and sat on the edge of day, watched
the black kettle night shy away.
Shadows lift.
Away my down-trodden brambles.

I so like this Misky, it has an autumnal flow as well as tone, and the line – “flaming jewel” captures my senses.

This is lovely… and to sit watching the dawn like that is perfect…the black kettle night made me think of morning coffee

Such a comfort in the ending. This part is just stunning:
Slowly,
comes morning sky. A flaming jewel.
Rolling ruby rivers of light.

“Rolling ruby rivers of light.” There is so much magnificence in the sunrise. I should make an effort to see it more often. Beautiful quadrille ❤
