It's Still Life

The Ice Cream Van

The ice cream van
just rounded
the corner.

Children bounding
out the door, their
eyes twice, thrice,
as wide.

O Sole Mio’s
tinny notes float
the air. Pick and prick
over and over, while

there they stand
with spare coins
in hand, as spots
of rain fall all around.
