A Poem Starting with A Line from John Prine Song
It’s half an inch of water,
and you think you’re gonna drown.
That’s what happened when I
mistook your bump for an embrace.
In the future, I self-resolve to
keep a self-distance, leaving me
howling-lonely, like a light
fixture without its bulb.
