For Poetic Blooming’s Adventure

IN SEARCH OF APRIL

As the sun breaks the cloudy wattle
it reveals the high pitched
green of spring. Everywhere,
its emboldened brush
is gilding everything.
I forgot the thunder in birdsong,
like innumerable feet that trod
the ground. My eyes,
less than wise, to what
stars write for me.

Seriously, I like how you merge the physical senses, sound to accentuate sight, catching the energy of spring in “emboldened,” and “thunder in birdsong” morphing to the image of masses of human feet trodding the ground (time and space of life?) And yet, you have the humility to write your vision is “less than wise,” acknowledging the limited perceptions of we mere mortals.
    Love it, cuz.

  3. Ditto. I’m glad you mentioned the columns because it made me leave the email version to see what you’d done. That had screwed up your line breaks.

Your Spring is way in advance of mine. Red twigs, dandelions, and a few flowering trees. A freeze predicted tonight. Something I rarely say: I am ready for warm weather.

    1. How odd. My version of WordPress’s email notification looked as it should in Mac Mail. And I would’ve thought the Tennessee hills would be ahead of SE England. Perhaps Brexit dropped us into a different temperate zone Today is 19C (mid 60sF). Tonight frosty. Tomorrow rain. I blame April Fools.
