dVerse Looking Up

What Were You Thinking …

that
everyone felt that rise and fall,
that it was breathing. waves in the sky,

that
my feet were on the ground
so my head was safe in the stars,

that
you and I were safe because we
turned the key between us,

that
the only way out is from where you came,

that
greenhouse gas makes the whole
universe burp,

that
not every invention is a guillotine,

and that
double-sided tape is quite useful
for keeping things in their place.

  1. “that

    a favorite line… amidst many.

And what if the scientists do fine the keys to the universe? It isn’t likely there is much they can do with any swiftness considering the time of a light year.
But I suppose it is in human nature to try and solve anything that has a mystery and might have a key or two floating around to unlock something or other.

  2. Oh how I love this….so many wonderful “thats!”
    the greenhouse gas line 🙂

double-sided tape —– hah! This one made my mind jump to a gargantuous roll of double-sided tape that could stop time….hold a spectacular memory within a space of two hours instead of one second….stop a mistake the very second we see it beginning…and then maybe went that tape is pulled off the clock moves backwards for just a moment. Ah but then we would not learn from our mistakes, right? But sometimes, I do think there’s a number of instances where folks really don’t learn from the mistakes and just move blithely backwards….as in not in a positive arc. But I contemplate too much here….
    that…….:)

There has to be some semblance of organized activity in some parts of the house for it to be considered a home!

  5. Love the different thoughts going from the starlit sky to double-sided tape (which makes me think of space travel in the style of Major Tom)
