Day 1: A Little Music for Miz Quickly

I Made a Little Music

…bought a piano, learned that my fingers no longer belong to me,

but

I can make a broad blade of grass whistle; it’s such a torturous sound,

so

I sip tea and hum delight, fold hankies into origami shapes.

  1. Love the bunny. I attempted piano lessons…long ago. One needs some math skills and a sense of rhythm – neither of which I possess.

    1. I started playing the piano before my legs were long enough to reach the pedals. Unfortunately, I’ve lost both the skill and talent over the years.

      1. Kind of like that second language we were supposed to become fluent in – in our school years. Use it or loose it. I really admire those who can speak and understand several languages. Music included.

  3. I can’t fold paper to save my life and so am fascinated by those who can …. as for piano? I played long ago but when became bored with it, refused to continue – despite a bashing from my parents – my mother’s words still haunt me …. one day you’ll wish you had continued … and she was right …. but the odd thing – despite my love of music and I have a great ear, I can’t sing a note “on key” to save my life. And so the fates and the cosmos laugh 😉

I like the “laughing” lightness to this piece – and you’re right, great observation that “whistling grass” does sound tortuous – have you had the opportunity to watch dogs reacting to it? Awful. Not that I can make grass whistle either, but know quite a few who can.
