Quadrille #13

The Swimmer

He was all blind bones and tendons,
whip-willow arms and flying legs.
Stood sturdy. Stood jar-steady.
It seemed easy, there in water,
light as clouds are in sky.
Fluid and flowing, a light
blue mountain’s breath, and
he fed off the roar of crowds.

  10. Great timing here. That reminds me of our swimmers in Rio. Your verse flows as smoothly as the swimmer

    1. Jar-steady: made it up. I’m making pickles, and the kitchen is filled with sterilised jars. 😀

      1. What kind of pickles? I haven’t pickled anything in years.

  16. Wonderful and unique use of the word! Michael Phelps on my mind while reading this. And yes — feeding off the roar of the crowd — must add to that adrenalin burst! 🙂
