It’s All Perspective

It’s All a Matter of Perspective

God doesn’t care about walls
or fences or boundaries, nor
your politics or prejudices.
I once knew a man who lived
in the desert — wanted to be
a hermit. So he built fences
all around him, mended them,
kept them tight and tidy,
and when I ask him why he
put up all the fences, he said,
“It’s to keep the sand out.”

  1. How did that plan work out for him? Not well in the desert, I suspect. I’m sure God didn’t care about his fence mending either. 🙂

  4. I think he may have become so focused on the fences he didn’t notice the sand… nice one, Misky!

  9. Smiling I am. It’s all a matter of persepective indeed. Great take on this photo and prompt. I’m reminded of the hermit crab (or crabby hermit?) who fights for a new shell as he gets bigger and bigger — pulls it on is back and wanders off sidewise, a braggart until his head gets too big for his britches so to speak and he has to start all over again! 🙂

  11. A mending wall in the desert. That doesn’t make for good neighbors in the Southwest. Gila Monsters and rattlesnakes are NOT impressed.
    Great take!

  13. Reasons often slip away like sand..become as sure as rocks and unshift-able as mountains.. what a clever and thought provoking poem! Makes me wonder about my bizarre habits 😉
