A Tritina for Wordle 249

forestRiver

A River’s Moment

That river owned grace. Boundless shade
from sunshine, and wistful thirsty banks
of silken silt as dense as any forest.

That river joined roots in a tangled forest,
washed slender from tender cells of shade,
and it spoke as a single skin. The banks

drank up the egg-washed tides, muddy banks
of bones and boats and rotting ribs of forest
spills. A fell moment of sunset fired shade.

It was a shady day on the banks of the forest.

Tritina (for NLJ) & and Sunday Whirl. Words: grace, join, yearning, silken, any, fire,
eggs, moment, skin, cell, light, boundless

  1. A fabulous poem, one of your very, very best (how’s that for tautology!). I didn’t even notice it was a Wordle. Please may I keep it to read again?

  3. This flows just like a river, picking up bits and pieces, then lazily dropping them into the reader’s mind, changing the landscape of that forest with rich thoughts and echoes of wisdom. Thank you,

For what the river has to go through it is still peaceful and serene along the river banks!
