Urban Relief

We were fluent as the blooming of summer,
a tonal rest and homespun comfort,
lacking the busy hum of men.

Those days fulfilled our dreams
of lonesome fields and wild heath lanes,
time absorbed us into landscape.

It was a place to draw near our shoes.

  9. Lovely lovely. Brings me way back in time to the days we lived on 15 acres in Iowa. Some days I would just stand outside in our back yard and listen to the sheets flapping in the wind on our clothesline and look out at the green hills. You do indeed have a way with words….the last line is perfection.

  10. Reognise this in its entirety and heartily agree. The hum of Good Men won’t be jarring on the senses though, one has to concede.
