In no particular order:
- Two wonderful weeks with family. (Although not so thankful that the flight from Norfolk to JFK was delayed by two hours. Time will tell if we make our connection to London.)
2. The Egyptian exhibit at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk: Horus. Mummies. Alabaster jugs. Sarcophagi.

3. New shoes that didn’t give me blisters. This may not seem a big deal to some, but my feet are very sensitive and they always gets blisters from new shoes.
Not this time!

4. Thankful for Alka-Seltzer after too much fried food.
5. Duke Riley exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in Norfolk VA.

6. A walk along Norfolk’s Waterfront when the temperature soared to 34C with high humidity. It was much cooler on the water. Eternally thankful for a breeze.

7. Thankful for seeing the interesting brick patterns on historic houses in Jamestown. A row of long brick; a row of shorter brick; long; short; long; etc. Brick denoted wealth back then as it was an expense process.

8. Thankfully, we made the connecting flight from JFK to London by running through crowds and passing 46 gates to arrive at our Gate 4, which was just starting to seat passengers.
Unfortunately, all three suitcases missed our flight— we watched as the Airtags sent us signals as the plane flew farther and farther away.

9. Thankful to reconnect with my granddaughter, Emma, again. Also very glad to spend time with my grandson— school is a challenge for Ethan. We set aside a little time every day to read to each other.

10. I’m thankful to be home again … even though we’re in the midst of a severe heatwave. Any busy work (and tidying up the garden) will be done early in the morning. Laundry will have to wait until our suitcases are delivered to us.
I hope your week is perfect.
