In no particular order, so left unnumbered
Thankful to be with my son, his wife, and my grandchildren. On the left, my eldest, who just retired as Captain in the Navy, and on the right, my granddaughter, Emma, who starts her senior year of high school this autumn. She and I are very close.

Thankful to see a cardinal (bird) 🤣 in all its glorious colour. This is a first for me; we don’t have them in England.

I am thankful for minimalist advertising boards (or shingles as we call them) — artistic and well thought out, rather than what’s seen on local highway billboards in VA. This one is a beauty.

I am thankful for brass-gear, hand-wound, century-old clocks that still function as clocks. Their care is a labour of love and a skill being lost to digital time-keeping.

One of a few magnolia blossoms still left on a tree in North Carolina. Beautiful. Thankful to see the real thing in the right setting.

The old brick Currituck Beach lighthouse at Corolla, Outer Banks, North Carolina. I saved myself $13 (and considerable pain) by declining to climb to the top for a view.

I am thankful to have seen this in person. Kitty Hawk (or the Wright Brothers’ Plane, since Kitty Hawk is the name of town). In the distance through the window, you’ll see a tall white monument —this is from where the flight took off. It’s quite a high mound.

Forever thankful for the beauty of trees.

Your love returned.
(wild horses on Kill Devil Hill Beach, the Outer Banks) I am thankful for this moment. It will stay with me forever.

The tenth one I’ll keep to myself.
Welcome to TToT (Ten Things of Thankful) blog hop! Join bloggers from all over the world as we come together to share those things that we are thankful for. Ten is in the name, but no one is counting; feel free to link up no matter how many (or few) you can list. Make sure to go read and comment on the posts, too. The TToT has always been big on making this a friendly community, and getting to know each other through posts and comments is a huge part of that. We’re thankful for you!
