2 Dec: Poem-a-Day Challenge

ai carpet, tapestry of forest

It’s been a Happy Day …

For breakfast
I had toast and marmalade,
eggs and tea.

Hummed a bar or two
of an old song that ran wild
through my head.

Wrapped a woollen shawl
around my shoulders,
catching cold now is a worry

I miss writing letters
to parents – they’ve been
gone many years now.

Winter darkness is here;
it’s the last day of November,
but I was told
that darkness is just light
resting.

It’s helpful to know people
who can shed light on things.

    1. Max is a marvel, isn’t he. He and Buckley. Magic in my eyes.
