Six Sentence Story: Part 32.2
1964: The Nature of Things, Part 2
July 1964: A Conversation with a Crow
If I, having only seen your coal-black wings that scoop out great portions of sky (I say to the crow, Cerberus) who would guess you are able to land on such skinny-pin legs.
And Cerberus say, “… they are enough as they need to be.”
And if I, having not seen for myself how those skinny-pin legs bend backwards, how would one know what direction you come from?
And Cerberus answers, ” … they bend as they need to.”
And if I, having only seen little fork-like marks on the sand, how would one assume that those claw-tracks were from talons that run on the wind.
And Cerberus says, “…I am a broad, black winged carrion of despair in the air, but a common crow in your tree with thee.”
