18 August: Ragtag Daily Prompt

man shaving in the bathroom; neutral colour tiles

Close Shave

He draws the razor
across his cheek,
I watch from an angled
view of the mirror,

and I blink, but if he blinks,
a reckless nick,
a dazed graze,
a swearing slice,
a woeful throb
of clotting blood,

and he draws the razor
across his cheek, slow
as timelessness, and
without scar or incident.
