2 April: NaPoWriMo “twos”

blackbirds on a bare branch

Ne’er the Two Shall Meet

These trees are wired for applause
Wired for flute-ish duets for sprites.

Iridescent

Yellow-beak blackbirds on a branch,
Straight and still as black

Obsidian worry beads.

Mistletoe and ivy drapes on your wrist,
As blackbirds sing to their crone.

  1. Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
    All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

    1. Of all their songs, this is my favourite. I’ve become an admirer of Myles Kennedy. This song just doesn’t “feel” like heavy metal to me. It’s subtle and at times gentle, calm and quiet, and then it rages. It’s really is one of favourites. Thank you.
