10 June: Field of Daisies #thewildness

wildflowers, daisies, around a pond

Day 10. Describe the texture and scent of wildflowers you encounter on your nature walks.

A Field of Daisies

White and bright as shining
passion. It wraps grassy breath
in silk, and

I’m in heady pastures of spice.
A mantle of clove, of air and light,
as if every star

was born here, to fledge
and fly by night.

  1. They spring up on the lawn, always the night after O mowed it! Rain forecast overnight.

    1. Really? Rain? Gosh, I do hope so. The garden is drier than dust. We just came back home from a barbecue, and it was so hot that people were leaving early. Peder and I found a nice cool shady spot under a tree that rained sticky pitch down on us. 🤣

          1. We had rain overnight. It looks fine again now but they said thunder and lightning were possible today and tomorrow. I hope so, I have been in the garage this morning and pulled out a lot of empty cardboard boxes and they could do with a good soaking so I cn get them into the Blue Bin. Morning, Misk.

  2. What a lovely image! Some people are capable of wanting to mow the sky.
