A Little Night Noise

What is that
buzz in my ear.

That static in my head.

White noise and nightgowns
and old women
who can’t sleep from
the noise.

Rattling hisses
like an old iron pot
on the boil.

Just pour me into
a silent pocket of night.

  3. Love it! Our heads get full of static as we get older. Seems we have to turn on other noise to get rid of the noise in our ears that never stops! A good night of quiet sleep is wonderful. Well done!

  4. I just couldn’t quad last night, but if I could – and could do it even half as well as you’ve done here – I’d be one Happy Poet, M. Thanks.
