INHERIT WINGS
they woke entangled in
pale light over pine and church.
dew lingering on her lips,
and scripture clinging
on clergy tongues.
The world is full of short sunrises and quick loving, but what will you do when dreams poke through like weeds β¦
this fragile air,
this paradise.
cloudless as generosity.
and they soared over their weeds,
and inherited wings.

some fabulous lines in this! like cloudless as generosity and the prose line in the middle and scripture clinging on clergy tongues. But I can’t help thinking… amazing what weed will do for one. π

Iβm not a fan of Chagall. His images infiltrate my sleep, but that painting seemed to express what I was writing. π β¦ And oddly, Iβve never tried it. π

You wrote and then found the image? Amazing!!! I thought you must’ve written to the image. I’ve never tried it either. π But I will never forget the bubble of a boyfriend’s bong. LOL. The alliteration in that really is quite poetic.

Yes, write and then go hunting for images. I actually prefer finding images more than writing. π

Love Chagall, love the image of the dreams as weeds. Outstanding, Misky.
