Her Long Finger Is . . .
sunrise, a clawing light,
trophy of grim and hardened
warriors.
Silent gold, a light
and stinging slash,
a shot, a cut across a harlot’s sky
that slaughters night.
In her hand, tucked behind
her back, she holds
noisy heat.
It rises with the multitudes,
she throws her sword
behind the march of men.
She is the long finger,
the conqueror of the night.
She is sunrise.
She is Aurora.

Oh to see a powerful Aurora –
(We’ve had several days of hardly dawn and about one foot total snow…)
Masterfully written.

I’m assured that the sun shines on the other side of our thick clouds, but I’m beginning to doubt it. 🤨
