AprPAD Day 7

Internalising

Even the sun shines blind.

I live inside clouds,
some days. Embrace the mist
and blur,

but you can shine in the dark
if you stick
to basics. Don’t overthink.

I inhale the deep
woods. Wild garlic. Pluck
at a violin string.

Try.
Listen to your internal quiet.

I can’t always take in a view from the edge.
Seeing is not believing.

So stick
your nose into everything.

I close my eyes
and
take road trips.

And what do you
see?

I see sunsets in a glass of wine.
I see you quiet as grass.

Keep your swimming suit on – you can’t
see what you look like any more,

I’ll find a place
to sit. Get

dirty.
Get genuine.

Even the sun shines blind.

Day 7: AprPAD “Senses” and Naporwrino “Identity”

It’s National Poetry Writing Month, which explains the surge in activity. I’m following three different sites generating daily prompts. Writers’ Digest Poetic Asides, the National Poetry Writing Month website (NaPoWriMo) and my old friend, Walt, over at Gnomes. All of these pieces are drafts.
