AprPAD Day 6.1

I.
for AprPAD “Food” and NaPoWriMo “A study in line breaks”

Apple

Take
an apple
eternal temptation
of the human beast

it strikes shame
and melancholy

Eat
an apple
and you’ll be hugging
your privates

it’ll send you off
shopping for cover

Here, have
my apple
painters bleed for them
painters starve for
a still life
Eat
an apple
and then pick out
the bits
from between your
teeth

It’s National Poetry Writing Month, which explains the surge in activity. I’m following three different sites generating daily prompts. Writers’ Digest Poetic Asides, the National Poetry Writing Month website (NaPoWriMo) and my old friend, Walt, over at Gnomes. All of these pieces are drafts.

  1. I like how you worked in the “interesting” prompt at NaPoWriMo with your breaks and spacing. “Hugging your privates” before “shopping for cover.” Ha!

    1. I must make better use of line breaks in the future.
