dVerse Quadrille 9

It’s Deeper Than Skin

We are each other’s skin,
an inherited thorn
touched by lineage,
memory’s echo.
Soft as silk,
as green is to spring.
I sleep
in quilted flesh.
I dream
to breathe,
my heart;
its voice.
Skin … my moral default when
I wander far and flooded.

  1. “I sleep in quilted flesh” – an absolutely amazing and astute line! Can’t comment any more — this line is just…apocalyptic!

  2. This is beyond skin-deep ~ I admire the opening lines Misky and thought of shared disease (an inherited thorn) among family members ~ A unique take on the spring green, smiles ~

  3. I read this on so many layers–thinking of the oneness that we really are. That photo speaks so poignantly to me. Love the quilted flesh and also
    Soft as silk,
    as green is to spring

Skin or in this case blood will impose the obligation and responsibility to be together among siblings. Family conflicts and break-ups can be most cruel. Very true Misky!
